Wheelchair Skills Courses
Wheelchair Skills Courses for Adults
Skills Courses are no longer running.
Ever struggled to carry a cup of tea, get up a curb or turn in a tight space? Or do you just want more independence in your manual or power wheelchair? Our Wheelchair Skills Courses are for you.
We realise there is little support for new adult wheelchair users in getting to know how to use your wheelchair effectively that’s why our unique wheelchair skills program is here to help.
We create a welcoming and supportive environment where, through a simple range of movements, day to day activities and even using music will help you feel more confident and learn skills to help you use your wheels in day to day life.
Our courses are open to wheelchair users over the age of 16. The one off courses usually run for 3-4 hours. If you need personal care you should bring your carer/personal assistant with you. Courses are run in the Manchester area.
Costs vary depending on the venue, but typically about £30.00.
To find out about our next course, please sign up to our mailing list at the bottom of the page or if you want further information on the course, please contact us.
Strictly Wheels Foundation
Basic wheelchair skills are essential in wheelchair dance, that’s why our wheelchair skills courses are run by our founders, “Strictly Wheels” – Paula Moulton and Gary Lyness who are the UK’s top wheelchair dance sport couple.
