Wheelchair Classes

Wheelchair Dance Lessons

Wheelchair Dance lessons run each 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 7.00pm-8.30pm*.  Classes are  FREE.

Classes are open to both wheelchair users and standing dancers to dance with wheelchair users as long as you are over 12 years old.

You don’t need any dance experience to join in, our wheelchair dance classes are fun and enjoyable. Our focus is on Para Dance Sport – Latin and Ballroom with some social dances line dances too.

You don’t need a special wheelchair, your own manual or power chair is suitable for basic wheelchair dance.  We do have some wheelchairs available to use too.  So all you need to bring is yourself and we recommend you bring a drink – like water as you might be surprised how thirsty work dancing is!

Wheelchair dance is great exercise for both the body and mind and dances are adapted to suit your ability, it’s not about what you can’t do, it’s about what you can do.  Wheelchair Dancing is great way to improve your day to day wheelchair skills.

If you have a flair for dancing and want to go on to compete then we’ll make sure you learn dances suitable for competitions.

If you want any more information, then feel free to contact us.

The 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month is a CLOSED session for competition dancers.  If you are eligible to attend you will be notified after attending the open classes.

*There may be some weeks during holiday periods when classes are not run, so if it’s your first time coming, please check the Events Page to check class times for that week.

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for delivering the dance session last week. The kids loved it and got so much out of it. They wouldn’t stop talking about it and ‘A’ in particular wouldn’t stop dancing all Camp.”

Wheelchair Skills Courses – Not running

Skills Courses are currently not running.

Ever struggled to carry a cup of tea, get up a curb or turn in a tight space?  Or do you just want more independence in your manual or power wheelchair?

We realise there is little support for new adult wheelchair users in getting to know how to use your wheelchair effectively that’s why our unique wheelchair skills program is here to help.

We create a welcoming and supportive environment where, through a simple range of movements, day to day activities and even using music will help you feel more confident and learn skills to help you use your wheels in day to day life.

Our courses last around 3-4 hours and are based in the Manchester area.

Costs vary per course depending on venue but typically around £20.00.

Contact us out to find out when our next course is.
