Wheelchair Dance Class

Please see our Covid guidance on attending classes HERE.

Our Wheelchair Dancing Classes in Manchester run each 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 7.00pm-8.30pm.  Our classes are currently FREE.

Classes are open to both wheelchair users and standing dancers to dance with wheelchair users as long as you are over 14 years old.

You don’t need any dance experience to join in, our wheelchair dance classes are fun and enjoyable.

You don’t need a special wheelchair, your own manual or power chair is suitable for basic wheelchair dance.  We do have some wheelchairs available to use too.  So all you need to bring is yourself and we recommend you bring a drink – like water, as you might be surprised how thirsty work dancing is!

Benefits

Wheelchair dance is great exercise for both the body and mind and dances are adapted to suit your ability.  It’s not about what you can’t do, it’s about what you can do.  Wheelchair Dancing is great way to improve your day to day wheelchair skills.  We always say it is about Ability not Disability.

If you have a flair for dancing and want to go on to compete then we’ll make sure you learn dances suitable for competitions.

Each class is followed by a 30 minute practice session for competition dancers.

Teachers

Wheelchair Dance Classes our led by our founders, Paula and Gary who are both qualified wheelchair dance instructors in the UK.  They have several years experience of social and competitive wheelchair dancing.
