Suomi Open Championship

Suomi Open Wheelchair Dance Championship
30th April 2016 – 1st May 2016 all-day
Kisakallio Sports Institute

Hosted by the Finnish Wheelchair Association the Suomi Open runs over the weekend of 30th April – 1st May and includes not 1, not 2 but 3 separate competitions.

  • IPC Approved Championship
  • Suomi Open International Championship
  • Finnish National Championships

The IPC Championship is open to all IPC registered competitors in the usual categories.

The Suomi Open is open to all countries for competitors at all levels, débutante, amateur and top class.  It will also feature senior classes and for the first time a Senior Latin category.

We will be sending our top competitors Paula Moulton and Gary Lyness who will take part in the IPC Approved Competition in Combi Latin and Ladies Singles events.

They will also take the opportunity to compete in the Senior Latin Combi, not that they are feeling their age, but it’s important that these categories start to take place in major competitions so that dancers can keep competing.  Paula will also again compete in the Open Singles.

The competition is taking place at a dedicated sports facility near Helsinki.

We wish our competitors all the best as they head out to compete for Team GB.
